Oxfam Donations:

"Oxfam believes that in a world rich in resources, poverty isnít a fact of life but an injustice which must be overcome.

We believe that everyone is entitled to a life of dignity and opportunity; and we work with poor communities, local partner organisations, volunteers, and supporters to make this a reality.

Oxfam International is part of a global movement to build a just and safer world. Oxfam believe that with the right resources, support, and training, people living in poverty can solve their own problems.

How much you do is up to you. But whether you choose to do a little or a lot, you can rest assured that your actions have brought the end of poverty that little bit closer. Are you in?

The Iím In campaign is being promoted across TV, press and online, and follows up a very successful campaign earlier in 2006 when people were asked to register their details with Oxfam in support of their goal of poverty reduction. This time Oxfam are asking not just for support but also money to help them achieve these goals. With a very strong brand, and a call to action thatís based on what their donations will pay for, this is a high profile campaign that should have huge success.

Poverty kills 50,000 people every day. But it doesnít have to be this way. Thousands of people across the country are saying Iím in and joining the growing movement to fight the injustice of poverty. How you get involved is up to you. Giving money Ė £5 a month Ė is high up on our Ďmost wantedí list. Regular gifts mean we can be ready to respond to emergencies and work long-term with communities to end their poverty for good.

What can you buy for 16p a day?

You might think not much these days but a gift of 16p a day (thatís £5 per month), can provide basic essentials like clean water and healthcare and life-changing opportunities like education and small-business training to the people who need them most. For just a small donation each month, look at how you can transform the lives of those living in poverty:

£8 each month - can buy a mosquito net. Helping to save lives by preventing the spread of diseases like malaria and yellow fever.

£10 each month - can pay for three textbooks for school children in Zambia. Over a year, £10 a month can buy 36 textbooks, educating children to give them a brighter future.

£20 each month - can feed a child orphaned by AIDS in Malawi for three and a half months.

£50 each month - can pay a trainee teacher's salary in Kenya for five weeks. Education gives people the skills they need to work their own way out of poverty.

£100 each month - could pay for seven water pipes. Give Oxfam £100 a month and in a year we could bring clean, safe water to people in 84 villages.

£250 each month - can pay for a cow for a dairy farmer in Malawi . Over a year £250 a month can provide 12 families with a cow, that can produce milk to sell and generate an income which could be used to fund their childrenís education."
