VFU - Very fine used. Stamps which have a post mark, but may never have actually been attached to anything. Typical examples are stamps which have been postmarked and placed in presentation packs, therefore still retaining gum on the reverse of the stamp. They often appear (despite the post mark) as clean and as crisp as the day they were produced.
